Overview
During the second block of my year 2 studies, I worked on this project requested by SPOT. They wanted a game that would be played by the kids who are going to Family Theatre Plays. After the doors of the Venue open, there is a waiting time before the Theatre Room opens, which is when the kids would play our game.
My role in this team was to ensure that the sounds fit the needs of our target audience, since for them, this is a very important aspect that can make the difference between being interested in this game or not. Besides this, I was part of the research and concepting group. I also worked on many 3D models, textures, and implementing NFC chips as a main mechanic in our game.
Sound Design
In the beginning, we wanted to make an adventure game based on one of the Theatre plays at SPOT. The second Audio file here is the first Soundtrack demo I made for the first concept we had. After plenty of research, the result was that I needed to make a fast-paced “Nintendo-like” soundtrack that would fit in the background of our game with a nice melody to keep the kids interested in it.
I only selected instruments that are easy to recognize and used them to make a happy and joyful theme. Since it’s hard for kids not to be distracted, the main problem was to make sure they dont miss out on the story. To fix this, I recorded voice lines and edited them in a specific way to make them sound funnier. The kids loved it when we tested it.

Hi, my name is Radu and I’m currently a CMGT student at Hanze University of Applied Sciences and I have been working to get in the audio industry ever since I was little.
My journey started when I was 7 years old and started studying piano and guitar at a Classical Music School. After 8 years I took the next step and studied electric guitar for another 5 years. In this period, I started a band with witch I had multiple live shows in some of the biggest venues in Bucharest. Close after that, the Electronic music production became my new big obsession, taking every opportunity I had to learn more and improve my skills. Being in this field for a while shaped the mindset I have, which helps me work easily with people who share the same passions as I do.
