Overview

For the last two months, my team and I worked on developing a Virtual Reality game for SPOT. This is an ongoing project that is due at the end of our academic year. This game is for a themed event for the Wrestling/Theatre play Mythos Ragnarok.

For this, I took the role of project owner to make sure everyone’s work is coherent and going in the right direction. Besides research, concepting, and testing, my main task was to take care of the sound part of this project, as well as modelling and making visual and post-processing FX. This video shows the prototype we have at the moment.

Since the game is emphasizing the journey of a warrior that has to redeem his non-honorable death by fighting in an arena to prove to the Gods he is worthy of going to Valhalla, I tried to showcase this through the Soundtrack.

The traditional war drums and percussion elements are building up the tension and immerse the player in the mission he has. Nothing else matters in that moment. I also used thunder and horn sounds to set the dramatic atmosphere and make the player feel the wrath of the Gods and importance of this trial.

About me

Hi, my name is Radu and I’m currently a CMGT student at Hanze University of Applied Sciences and I have been working to get in the audio industry ever since I was little.

My journey started when I was 7 years old and started studying piano and guitar at a Classical Music School. After 8 years I took the next step and studied electric guitar for another 5 years. In this period, I started a band with witch I had multiple live shows in some of the biggest venues in Bucharest. Close after that, the Electronic music production became my new big obsession, taking every opportunity I had to learn more and improve my skills. Being in this field for a while shaped the mindset I have, which helps me work easily with people who share the same passions as I do.
